"Quatre histoires de blanc et de noir" engraved by Frank Kupka

Reissue in limited edition (300 ex) and numbered of the famous work of Kupka

Entirely designed by Kupka and published in 300 copies by authors in 1926, Four Stories of White and Black offers the artist the opportunity to shape his bookish ideal. He gives an eloquent account of his creation over the last fifteen years since his rejection of mimesis and recapitulates some of the most significant aspects by logically relating them to each other.

Collected in a vellum portfolio, the four stories, each composed of six engravings, are preceded by a title page, a frontispiece and an important manifesto where the artist exposes his ideas on "abstract reality". Of the artwork.
Again using engraved wood to graphically transpose his pictorial universe, Kupka delivers a masterfully ordered reading in four chapters: organic-decorative; triangular; waving-cosmic; vertical and diagonal.

** This facsimile, exceptionally crafted, will discover Four stories of black and white, which culminates Kupka's pictorial creation from 1912 to 1926, particularly in its organic and cosmic aspects, and announces the searches for the following years. **
