Miró Box Set - Limited Edition of 150 copies

In a vintage box set limited to 150 numbered copies, you will find an edition of an unpublished watercolour from 1952 (ink, gouache, pastel and collage on paper) as well as a copy of the catalogue published for the Miró exhibition at the Grand Palais, from October 3 2018 to February 4 2019.

Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma de Mallorca, 1983) is considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Whether it is a sign or a colour, Miró creates a poetic universe full of metamorphosis. Attracted by all forms of poetry, he sees in dreams the expression of deep impulses that he strives to transcribe into an artistic form, a happy juxtaposition between the real and the unreal. The life of the artist, over seven decades, is retraced here in a catalogue of refined fabrication, edited under the direction of Jean-Louis Prat, curator of the exhibition and director of the Maeght Foundation from 1969 to 2004, who was a friend of the artist. More than 150 reproductions of paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptures, as well as photographs, many of them previously unpublished, reveal a technical and stylistic itinerary marked by incessant renewal (expressionist, retail, surrealist, wild...). An anthology of prose texts written by the poets with whom the artist worked throughout his life, Louis Aragon, Tristan Tzara, Max Jacob, René Char, Jacques Dupin, accompanies this visual journey.
The catalogue thus (re)discovers the immense and varied creation of Joan Miró, a painter involved in all the important issues of the 20th century.
