Earrings after "La Parisienne"

During the second half of the 19th century, many artists were inspired by La Parisienne, which became a symbolic figure of the flourishing capital.

Charles Giron, the most Parisian of painters from Geneva, never parted with this portrait of an elegant young woman with a pretty and impish profile. On the point of going out, she is wearing gloves and an afternoon dress draped over her hips in the style of an 18th century crinoline dress, reflecting the late 19th century taste for this highly refined period.

A painter of landscapes and portraits, Giron was highly appreciated by international high society for his elegant portraits.
