In the footsteps of Josephine - Musée national des châteaux de Malmaison et Bois-Préau
FRENCH LANGUAGE
In 1799, Josephine Bonaparte acquired the Malmaison estate.
She then had the old building restored to neoclassical style and the gardens landscaped. She retained ownership of the estate after her divorce and lived in this real castle-museum until her last breath in May 1814.
Today, Malmaison Castle, restored and refurbished as close as possible to what it was in the days of Napoleon and Empress Josephine, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere in which the famous couple lived.
